Job Description

Under the supervision of the Executive Producer, Video Promotion and the Director of Content, the TV Producer/Editor creates, edits, and executes concepts and treatments of on-air promotions, bumpers, tags, spots, and Arizona PBS station IDs while maintaining national PBS and Arizona PBS brand guidelines, look, and feel as established by Creative Director / Creative Services.

Essential Duties

• Acquires, assembles, and edits audio and video materials from multiple sources into high-quality final product(s) ensuring visual cohesiveness for our brand.
• Final output may include, but not limited to: Produce and edit on-air tune-in promotions, tags, long-lead, season & series sell, stunt programming for all Arizona PBS original productions.
• Create animated Arizona PBS Kids programming bumpers and tags.
• Edit holiday and seasonal messaging promos, monthly Kids birthday promos, Stories of Giving promos, and other consistent on-air messaging.
• Produce & edit long-form sizzle reels, major donor, giving, and membership promotions.Create long-form and interstitial programs using acquired footage, and on-air promos for national PBS pledge events for national distribution.
• Create animated brand elements (including, but not limited to transitions, titles, and lower thirds) incorporating national PBS branding with local Arizona PBS brand elements to create a unified brand look and feel.
• Ensure high production standards and quality control of all work.
• Trains and provides limited supervision to current student editors for on-air promo tagging and creating of on-air program lineups.
• Manage & back-up archival projects and elements to external hard drive(s).
• Performs basic operational maintenance on editing hardware and conveys timely equipment information to Arizona PBS Engineering department as needed.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in related field AND three years of experience editing broadcast promotions, spots, and production elements; OR any equivalent combination of experience and / or education from which comparable knowledge, skills, and abilities have been achieved.

Desired Qualifications

• Demonstrated knowledge and experience in non-linear editing, compositing, animations, post-production audio, and exporting using Adobe Creative Cloud, including, but not limited to Adobe Premiere, Adobe After Effects, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Audition, and Adobe Media Encoder (specifically in output and export to multiple audio and video formats and codecs).
• Demonstrated knowledge and experience of studio and field-based broadcast production techniques, methods, and procedures.
• Demonstrated knowledge and experience in NTSC broadcast standards, rules, regulations, and acceptable practices, as well as experience in PBS broadcast procedures and policies.
• Experience in generating creative solutions to requests from Promotions, Pledge, Underwriting, and Production departments, and ability to work collaboratively with Arizona PBS staff across multiple departments.
• Experience in working effectively in a fast-paced, high-volume, deadline-driven environment.
• Evidence of effective communication
• Ability to quickly shift priorities from one project to another with variable deadlines.

Working Environment

Activities are performed in an environmentally controlled office setting subject to extended periods of sitting, keyboarding, and manipulating a computer mouse.  Required to stand for varying lengths of time and walk moderate distances to perform work.  Equipment used, but not limited to: computer workstation (Windows PC and / or Apple Mac iOS) with keyboard, monitor and mouse, printer, copier, fax machine, calculator (standard and time code), telephone, and associated computer / technology peripherals.
