Position Summary:
Founded in 1965, the Henry Samueli School of Engineering educates more than 4,600 students (3,728 undergraduates and 961 graduates) with an integrative approach that blends fundamentals, research and hands-on experience. The School’s aim is to unleash innovation, create opportunities and inspire ingenuity. The Samueli School’s faculty members are leaders in their disciplines who have achieved worldwide recognition for their research and dedicated teaching. The School includes six academic departments. Under the leadership of the Dean, the School pursues research that is timely, socially responsible and cutting edge, and works in partnership with industry, state, and federal agencies to promote the transfer of research to applications that benefit society. Current research thrusts include Communications and Information Technology, Energy and Sustainability, Human Health, and Advanced Manufacturing and Materials. The Academic Innovations, Programs and Partnership is responsible for implementing, overseeing and assessing the K-12 outreach programs, first-year engineering program and international programs to enhance and support the engineering education at the School of Engineering. Supporting the Samueli School of Engineering’s Academic Innovation, Programs and Partnerships, the incumbent is responsible for providing support in planning and implementation of an international program including the following: – Schedules program work, oversee daily operations, coordinate the activities of the program and set priorities for coordinating programs – Provides specialized administrative support in the development, implementation, and marketing of program/project function. – Serves as a central point of contact among students, faculty, staff, other departments, and/or external constituencies on day-to-day programmatic, operational, and administrative matters; assists with orientation seminars, meetings, special projects, and/or general problem resolution. – Assist in monitoring/administering program/project revenues and expenses; – Writes, edits, and coordinates development of promotional materials, educational materials, and/or brochures, as appropriate to the program. – Maintains program/project records, researches information and gathers and computes various data; prepares special and/or one-time reports, summaries, or replies to inquiries – Performs clerical and administrative support tasks, including creation, typing, and editing of program correspondence, purchasing documents, reports, program handbooks, and other publications. – Assist in hosting international delegations including logistical arrangement – Administrative support with reimbursement and purchasing orders – Manage and update program websites
Compensation Range:
$24.66 – $26.36

Required:
Ability to use sound judgment in responding to issues and concerns. Solid communication and interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with all levels of staff verbally and in writing Skill and ability to provide administrative support to tasks, including creation, typing, and editing of program correspondence, purchasing documents, reports, program handbooks, and other publications Solid organizational skills and ability to multi-task with demanding timeframes. Working knowledge of common organization-specific and other computer application programs. Proficient skill and ability to use MS Office applications Skill and ability to Manage and update program websites Ability to use discretion and maintain confidentiality. Ability to maintain and organize program/project records. Ability and Skill to research information as well as gather and compute various data; Ability to prepare special and/or one-time reports, summaries, or formulate replies to inquiries Ability to Write, edit, and coordinate development of promotional materials, educational materials, and/or brochures, as appropriate to the program. Skill in monitoring/administering program/project revenues and expenses Skill and ability to process expense reimbursement requests. Ability to help coordinate hosting of international delegations, including travel, lodging and other related accommodations.
