Postdoctoral Research Associate

JOB SUMMARY

The Institute for Collaboration on Health Intervention and Policy (InCHIP) at the University of Connecticut seeks qualified applicants for the position of Postdoctoral Research Associate, a full-time position. The candidate will be working with the Principal Investigator (PI), Dr. Roman Shrestha, on one or more funded research projects in the areas of digital health interventions to address the HIV care continuum for key populations, particularly among sexual and gender minority populations. The successful candidate will be a member of the research team and is expected to take a collaborative and leadership role in project design, implementation, publication, and mentoring graduate and undergraduate students. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 

• Provide technical and scientific oversight and implementation to ongoing research projects.
• Lead and support data analysis and manuscript preparation, with the goal of developing an independent area of research.
• Lead and/or support grant proposal development and writing.
• Mentor graduate and undergraduate students.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS 

Ph.D. in public health, nursing, psychology, social work, or related behavioral disciplines.

Evidence of scholarship, such as publications and involvement in funded research projects.

Strong written and verbal communication skills.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS 

Interest in HIV and substance use research with key populations, including LGBTQ+, people who inject drugs (PWID), and others.

Prior course work and/or training in mHealth/eHealth, global health, and implementation science research are highly desirable.

Strong quantitative and/or qualitative skills and research experience.

APPOINTMENT TERMS 

This position is envisioned as a full-time, 12-month position, with the possibility of renewal dependent upon the availability of funding and the candidate’s performance. Salary will be commensurate with experience and will be consistent with NIH NRSA stipends. Start date is flexible.
