The Unix Platform Services Team is a large collaborative team who are responsible for supporting services running on Unix infrastructure. This includes Oracle databases and applications as well as components of the Identity and Access Management stack, middleware integrations and many others.

About the Role
As Database Administrator, you will provide support, guidance, and expertise managing databases on a Linux platform, primarily Oracle, although PostgreSQL and MySQL/MariaDB are also in use, as well as Oracle applications.
Collaborating with other team members to continue delivering our high level of service is also essential, as well as identifying and implementing improvements where appropriate.
Responsibilities also include:
• Database management, including systems maintenance and deploying upgrade and security patches.
• Responding to service requests as the expert trouble-shooter, resolving complex database issues in a Unix environment
• Identifying business and user requirements, including opportunities for new or enhanced services, and then contributing to their design and development.
• Communicate and engage with suppliers, project, and service teams ensuring that solutions are delivered within budget and to agreed service levels.
• Mentoring our less experienced members of the team is also strongly encouraged
About You
Proven experience of installation, administration and maintenance of modern Oracle Databases, along with experience of Oracle EBS R12.2 and current experience of Linux
Your ability to work proactively and constructively in resolving issues and taking ownership of problems is equally important.
