Customer Service Representative

Our Customer Service Representatives (CSR) will work with customers to resolve complaints, process orders, and provide information about the organization’s products and services. CSR must be able to use a telephone, computer, and other office equipment. Representatives typically need a high school diploma or equivalent and receive on-the-job training to learn the specific skills needed for the job. If you are good at communicating and interacting with people as well as adept at using computers, this may be the opportunity for you.

Pay: $16.00 an hour (based on prior experience)

Schedule: Monday – Friday

9:00 AM – 5:00 PM

10:00 AM – 6:00 PM

3:00 PM – 11:00 PM

Duties

  • Listen to customers’ questions and concerns and provide answers or responses
  • Provide information about products and services
  • Take orders, calculate charges, and process billing or payments
  • Review customer accounts and make changes, if necessary
  • Handle returns or complaints
  • Record details of customer contacts and actions taken
  • Refer customers to supervisors or more experienced employees

Important Qualities

  • Communication skills – must be able to provide clear information in writing, by phone, or in person.
  • Computer skills – must be adept at using computers.
  • Customer-service skills – help companies retain customers by professionally answering questions and helping to resolve complaints.
  • Interpersonal skills – should be able to create positive interactions with customers.
  • Listening skills – must listen carefully to ensure that they understand customers in order to assist them.
  • Patience – should be patient and polite, especially when interacting with dissatisfied customers.
  • Problem-solving skills – must determine solutions to customers’ problems. By doing so, representatives contribute to customer loyalty and retention.
