| Job Summary | Auburn University Campus Safety and Security is searching for a highly motivated, enthusiastic, strong communicator for a Communications & Marketing Specialist position. The Department of Campus Safety and Security provides programs and services to ensure a safe and secure campus, in support of Auburn University’s teaching, research, outreach and student services. A successful candidate will be self-driven and passionate about communicating to a wide and diverse audience about personal safety, crime prevention, and campus safety initiatives. Our team of dedicated, knowledgeable, and enthusiastic safety professionals will work collaboratively with the Communications Specialist to identify communications needs and assist with content development. Position Summary: The Communications Specialist will actively advance the safety of the Auburn University community by coordinating communications and outreach for the Department of Campus Safety and Security. Under the direction of the Director, Campus Safety & Compliance, the Communications Specialist will develop communication plans to promote personal safety and accountability and share the vision, mission, goals, and achievements of the department. The Communications Specialist will manage the department’s social media accounts, organize events to engage the campus community, and assist with department communications during emergency and crisis situations, serving as the department’s Public Information Officer. |
