About the job

The field of research should focus on the application of AI in public health and health care settings. The appointee is expected to take a leading role in research and research-based teaching within this field in collaboration with staff at the Department of Public Health and Nursing and the Department of Computer Science at NTNU. Employment will be at the Department of Public Health and Nursing, anchored in the Musculoskeletal Research Group , and connected to the Norwegian Open AI Lab (NAIL) and the Data and Artificial Intelligence (DART) unit at the Department of Computer Science. The collaboration between these entities has promoted the development and implementation of knowledge-based AI solutions for prevention or treatment of musculoskeletal disorders.

Relevant topics for the position include but are not limited to:

• Knowledge-based AI methods for clinical decision support systems and personalized care
• Performance evaluation of AI-based applications in public health and healthcare settings
• Explainable AI in public health and healthcare settings (e.g., data quality, transparency, robustness, and performance)
• Trustworthy AI in public health and healthcare settings (e.g., data access, privacy, bias, and fairness)
