on the basis of the Art. 43 of the Act of 30 April 2010 on research institutes (Dz. U. / Journal of Laws of 2022, item 498) and the Statute of the Building Research Institute announces a competition
for the position of the Assistant Professor
in the Construction Structures, Geotechnics and Concrete Department
in the group of research workers

For the assistant professor position may join candidates who meet the conditions set out in the Act of 30 April 2010 on research institutes (Dz. U. / Journal of Laws of 2022, item 498) specified in Art. 43 sec. 5.

Candidates should also meet other following requirements:

Doctoral degree in civil engineering and transport discipline.

At least 5 years’ experience gained in scientific or R&D institutions or organizations.

Knowledge of issues related to the testing of concrete and its components.

Knowledge of issues related to tests of construction chemicals.

Basic knowledge of cement composites testing methods including scanning microscopy, thermal analysis and X-ray diffraction.

Experience in public speaking during trainings and conferences.

Good knowledge of MS Office.

Excellent communication in English language (oral and written) that enables work in international teams.

In the case of foreign candidates, the knowledge of Polish language is required (oral and written).

Responsibilities:

Development of technical opinions and expertise based on the current technical knowledge, normative documents and tests conducted in the field of concrete products, concrete and its components as well as other composites based on mineral binders.

Conducting tests of cement composites in the field of instrumental tests with the use of methods such as thermal analysis, X-ray diffraction and observation of the microstructure of materials using scanning microscopy.

Development of test reports for concrete products, concrete and its components as well as other composites based on mineral binders.

Preparation of test reports of performed works according to requirements of the ITB’s quality management system.

Realization of grants, research and development works and preparation of articles in scientific journals.

ITB offers:

The list of scientific publications with scores for the last two years also description of scientific and engineering achievements.

The list of scientific topics and research tasks with an indication of the functions performed in these works.

A signed declaration that in the event of winning the competition and starting work, the Building Research Institute will be the primary place of work during the period of employment in this position.
