Two tenure-track faculty positions in the Department of Earth Sciences at the University of Connecticut

The Department of Earth Sciences at the University of Connecticut invites applications for two full-time tenure-track positions at the rank of Assistant Professor, in (1) Hydrogeology and (2) Environmental or Engineering Geophysics/Geology. We are interested in candidates who are working at the forefront of addressing some of the biggest challenges facing society, including securing sustainable water supplies, food and energy production, environmental protection, natural resources, natural geologic hazards, and/or investigating how earth and environmental processes and human activities interact. The successful candidates will be expected to establish independent research programs that will attract external funding and provide research training for graduate and undergraduate students. They will also be expected to provide effective instruction at the undergraduate and graduate levels and participate in professional service to the department and university. We seek candidates who demonstrate interest in broadening participation of members of underrepresented groups and who are familiar with pedagogical techniques designed to meet the needs of students with diverse backgrounds.
