UCF Communications and Marketing
UCF Communications and Marketing ensures the integrity of the UCF brand, increases the university’s visibility, attracts students, engages alumni, creates cost-saving opportunities, and connects UCF to the community through strategic communication and partnerships. It is our mission to tell the UCF story locally, statewide, nationally, and internationally across multiple media and through a variety of channels.
The Opportunity
The brand writer collaborates with department and college stakeholders to plan and execute content that builds brand awareness and enhances brand perception. This role requires an ability to translate business objectives and strategic requirements into content strategy, the ability to research topics and interview experts to mine story details, and a creative and imaginative approach to crafting a narrative. Our ideal candidate is skilled and imaginative writer with an eye for detail and the ability to engage and inform through storytelling.
Responsibilities:
Write clear, engaging copy with an authoritative voice.
Interpret copy writing briefs to understand project requirements.
Collaborate with editor, web, and marketing teams (e.g. email campaigns and landing pages).
Conduct high-quality research and interviews.
Edit and proofread copy as needed.
Use SEO principles to maximize the reach of content.
Collaborate with internal teams to develop graphics and video to support content strategy.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree and 2+ years of relevant experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
Proven experience with various types of writing in a writer or related role.
Knowledge of marketing, brand, and content strategy.
Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills.
Experience with writing scripts for video and audio.
Ability to take data and insights and build an informed strategy.
Highly creative and passionate about advertising and copy writing.
Collaborative spirit and service mindset.
