The Online Volunteers will collect, collate and verify regional related information from Open Sources.

Key Responsibilities

We are seeking the support of two Online Volunteers in monitoring different social media and online media channels in Farsi for UNDSS.

Under the guidance of the Security Advisor, to this end the Online Volunteers are asked to:

– Utilize local open-media sources (a list will be provided), including newspapers, online articles, and other publications in Farsi.
– Ensure that information is accurate, reliable, and sourced from credible outlets.

Required Skills and Experience

Technical Skills:

– Strong research and analytical skills.
– Prior experience in in safety and security area is required.
– Ability to synthesize information from various sources into concise reports is required.
– Familiarity with the geopolitical landscape, culture, and current events of the Region is required.
– Familiarity with humanitarian response, emergency preparedness, crisis/emergency relief management, international relations or other related areas will be considered an advantage.
– Knowledge of political dynamics and international relationship is desirable.
– Previous communication and social media monitoring experience is considered an asset.

Communication Skills:

– Excellent written communication skills.
– Ability to present information clearly and logically.

Other Requirements:

– Familiarity of using different social media platforms and mainstream print and electronic media news channels.
– Proven motivation and interest in the fields of security and international affairs.
– Access to reliable internet connectivity.
– Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
