UN Women, grounded in the vision of equality enshrined in the Charter of the United Nations, works for the elimination of discrimination against women and girls; the empowerment of women; and the achievement of equality between women and men as partners and beneficiaries of development, human rights, humanitarian action and peace and security.
Through its office in Ecuador, UN Women supports the Government, civil society, and the United Nations system in promoting gender equality, women’s empowerment, and the protection and fulfillment of women’s human rights. Ending violence against women and girls is a key priority area in the country. UN Women Ecuador works to strengthen the quality and accessibility of coordinated comprehensive services and responses to gender-based violence. In this context, it collaborates with public institutions, civil society organizations, and other key stakeholders to foster a shared understanding of the necessary services, as well as the standards and guidelines required for delivering essential services to women and girls experiencing violence.
In addition, the office actively participates in inter-agency processes within the United Nations system in Ecuador and promotes collaboration with other UN entities across specific programme areas, contributing to a comprehensive and coordinated response to advance gender equality in the country.
Under the overall guidance of the Chief, Information and Communications Technology (ICT) and the direct supervision of the Operations Associate, the ICT and Security Assistant executes ICT services in the Country Office by implementing ICT systems and strategies, providing daily technical support to users, and contributing to the protection of information assets through the application of basic security measures and compliance with corporate standards. The role also supports the administration and tracking of ICT assets and services, advises on the adoption of new technologies to enhance productivity, and promotes a client-oriented approach to ensure efficient and reliable service delivery.

V. Minimum Qualifications:
Education and Certification:: Completion of secondary education is required.
Bachelor’s degree in computer science is an asset
Cisco Certified Network Engineer (CCNE) and Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE) or Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP) required. If certification is not available at the time of recruitment, it should be obtained within 6 months
ITIL Certification is an asset
Project Management Certification (PMP or Prince) is an asset
Experience: At least five (5) years of working experience in network administration and use of hardware/software, telecommunications facilities.
Experience in Azure, like Defender, Portal will be considered an asset.
Experience with internal UNW applications such as GST, SN, and the Portal is an asset.
Languages: Fluency in English and Spanish is required.
