Position Overview

We have an exciting opportunity to appoint an innovative and engaged Tutor / Senior Tutor to the School of Nursing at Massey University, one of the most well-respected Schools of Nursing in Aotearoa New Zealand. A full-time position for an experienced Tutor / Senior Tutor in the foundational concepts of nursing practice is available on the Wellington campus.

This Tutor / Senior Tutor role will see you provide outstanding clinical leadership in foundational skills, knowledge and attributes needed for students in pre-registration programs. 

The focus of teaching is nursing clinical skills and knowledge, and professional nursing competencies, which are required for students enrolled in the Bachelor of Nursing and Master of Clinical Practice (graduate entry) nursing programmes. This role includes blended teaching in the classroom, online, and undertaking a large number of clinical laboratories and the use of simulation. 

As a Tutor / Senior Tutor, you will work with colleagues who have knowledge and skills in a wide range of disciplines and will contribute your expertise to support the foundational knowledge and skills in nursing.

You will need

• Recent clinical and/or education experience in Clinical Practice
• Current Nursing Council of New Zealand registration as a nurse
• Ability to work as a culturally safe practitioner within a team
• Excellent communication, time management and relationship-building skills
• Health and social sector, iwi and community relationships
• Minimum of a Postgraduate Certificate in Nursing
