Temporary Editor and Science Writer, Communications & Outreach

The School profiles itself extensively on various platforms. One of which is through social and online media – and external as well as internal publications, to augment other marketing collaterals that are distributed to school faculty, staff and students (current and potential) as well as partners and collaborators at events and milestone dates. Reporting directly to the Director, Communications & Outreach, the candidate is tasked with writing and editing articles for the school’s publications, including newsletter, science magazine, and website, profiling and publicising the School’s unique selling points, and the faculty, staff and students’ expertise. Through these key marketing and outreach tools, the School’s journey, achievements and undertakings are showcased, our reputation enhanced, while ensuring our stakeholders are kept informed and updated on the School’s progress.  

Responsibilities:

• Covering Editor for the annual science magazine as current Editor will be on maternity leave

• Temp writer of articles for School publications including inhouse newsletters

• Temp writer of articles for partner publications (NTU, Imperial, NHG, A*Star, etc)

• Temp writer for School events and interview profiles

• Temp writer of speeches for School leadership, where assigned

• Event support for the team, where needed.

Requirements:

• Excellent writing and interview skills

• 3 – 5 years of experience in academic or communications industry

• Prior experience in Communications

• Good in communication and interpersonal skills  

• Knowledge of HTML coding, Sharepoint, Photoshop, Illustrator software will be a plus

• Degree in Media, Journalism, Communications, English

This is a temporary position till 31 March 2023.
