| Brief Summary of Job Description | The teacher assistant reports to the lead teacher and will help with the general care of the children, help with facilitating activities, and completing tasks to ensure the classrooms are kept clean and orderly. They will also complete forms as requested by the Lead teacher and/or the director. The teacher assistant will comply with the DHHS licensing requirements for teacher assistant. |
| Job Duties | Provide proper care for children per their needs. Provide comfort, support, and consistency in routine. Carry out care plans for each child per Lead Teacher direction. Communicate with parents as to their child’s daily happenings and any concerns regarding their child. Carry out planned activities for students using chosen curriculum, help facilitate the activities. Assist the Lead Teacher in the chosen assessment program with each child. Help supervise student teachers and classroom volunteers in the classroom. Keep room in good, clean condition as per licensing standards. Comply with licensing requirements and attain Continuing Education hours. |
| Required Qualifications | Must be at least 18 years of age and have an High School Diploma or GED. |
| Preferred Qualifications | The individual shall have one of the following: a Child Development Associate Credential or hold an associate degree in fields related to the care/education of children age 0-12 (i.e., early education, special education). |
