About the Role
The position supports the teaching and research staffing requirements for the Faculty. The Staffing Manager has responsibility for ensuring all employment contracts for teaching and research are appropriate and compliant. The position works with Law School hiring managers and supervisors to ensure hiring, payment, and supervision levels are to a high standard. The position manages the employee life cycle including contracting, onboarding, offboarding, induction, room allocations, staff access, training, office re-sets and relevant asset management. Business Services and Human Resources provide some input into these processes. The Staffing Manager is to ensure the overall staff experience is as seamless and well supported as possible.
The position leads complex and varied work related to strategic initiative implementation, and the achievement of continuous improvement objectives for Melbourne Law School (MLS).

About You
You are an experienced Manager with outstanding communication and negotiation skills, able to understand complex issues while also effectively leading others in the completion of strategic priorities. Your interpersonal skills enable you to build and sustain positive working relationships within teams, matrix management arrangements and a shared service environment. You are capable of managing projects and have the skills required to adequately maintain team momentum, set and meet various delivery milestones, and also measure outcomes as required. You are experienced and competent in conducting broad ranging research, analysis and evaluation of options, and able to then provide impartial and forthright advice on complex matters. Ideally you will have experience in working in staff or human resourcing areas of a complex business environment.
