The London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine (LSHTM) is creating new roles as part of a significant investment in research operations services which underpins our world leading research programmes.  These roles provide vital support and expertise to our research teams with a range of legal agreements related to their projects in pursuit of LSHTM’s mission to improve health worldwide.

An experienced Senior Research Contracts Manager is sought to lead a team in the drafting, negotiating, and signing contracts across LSHTM’s complex portfolio of research and consultancy projects.

The post-holder will be the key business partner for a faculty on issues related to research contracts, working closely with faculty leadership.  They will be responsible for delivery of an efficient, customer-focused service to the faculty, identifying and resolving issues and bottlenecks, and driving long term improvements.

Applicants must have substantial experience of working in a legal and contracts role in a research-intensive higher education institution.  They should have knowledge of the contractual and regulatory landscape of clinical research. The successful candidate will have experience of successfully leading a team, and of driving improvements in delivery. They will be comfortable using their knowledge and judgement to resolve issues independently, taking a pragmatic risk-based approach to decision making. The post is full-time (0.8-1.0FTE) and permanent.

The salary will be on the Professional Services scale Grade 7 in the range £48,827-£55,895 per annum (inclusive of London Weighting). The post will be subject to the LSHTM terms and conditions of service.  Annual leave entitlement is 30 working days per year, pro rata for part time staff. In addition to this there are discretionary “Wellbeing Days”. Membership of the Pension Scheme is available. The post is based in London.
