This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced organisational development specialist to lead and enable the coordination, development, facilitation, and evaluation of organisational development activities for key functional areas throughout the employee lifecycle.

You will have the opportunity to lead the development and implementation of programs to build a culture of appreciation with a focus on enabling career pathways, high performance, recognition and reward.

This role will work closely with the Senior Manager, Organisational Development to undertake organisational assessments to determine the development for strategies and frameworks through a focus on performance and careers.

While the Senior Manager Organisational Development will provide guidance, support and direction, you will have autonomy in this position to use your experience, knowledge, and skills to partner with stakeholders, vendors, and the Organisational Development team to bring the proposed program of work to life. 

Your key responsibilities will include the need to:

• Lead the design and development of high-quality programs and solutions that leverage knowledge of the principles, theory and practice of adult learning and organisational development
• Curate content to develop toolkits, guides, and self-service resources that support leaders and team members to grow and develop
• Continuously improve the experience of Deakin’s people across offerings by taking an evidence-based approach to evaluation
• Provide advice and guidance, and influence outcomes through considered needs analysis and consultative practices relating to performance and career outcomes
• Lead with values, ethics and emotional intelligence to grow team resilience, inclusion and performance and sets clear standards of expected behaviour and celebrate and reward outstanding performance
• Use an in-depth understanding of Deakin’s operating environment and its drivers to translate complex issues into clear and understandable strategies and goals for Deakin and formulate organisational development interventions to achieve objectives

To be successful, you’ll have:

• A combination of relevant tertiary qualifications, preferably at post graduate level, and demonstrated substantial and significant experience in an organisational development (OD) role within a large and complex organisation
• Demonstrated success in the scoping, design, development and implementation of OD, Performance or L&D programs is essential
• Demonstrated strong understanding of contemporary Learning, Performance and OD concepts and strategies and the capacity to adapt and implement and apply these for the benefit of an organisation
• Demonstrated understanding and experience in the application of human centred design principles, Design Thinking, Project Management and adult learning theory
• Demonstrated influencing, advocacy and facilitation skills as well as excellent written and oral communication skills
• Ability to work autonomously, operating within broad objectives and providing advice and assistance to leaders at all levels
• Ability to work with ambiguity on multiple projects, managing multiple relationships and deliver to tight time frames
