Senior Analytical Technician (Fixed Term)

The Department of Chemical Engineering aims to appoint a highly skilled, adaptable and self-motivated Senior Analytical Laboratory Technician to provide technical support in its laboratories.

The successful applicant will be responsible for the development of protocols and the day to day maintenance, configuration and operation of a wide range of analytical instrumentation. In addition, they will assist with the management of gases, chemicals, health and safety and waste within the department and wider faculty and provide general technical and housekeeping support across the Department and Faculty. Members of the technical team in the department also support undergraduate and postgraduate students, especially in laboratory and project work.

Applicants will hold a first degree in a science based discipline and have considerable experience of analytical laboratory practice, equipment and facilities. Previous experience of having worked in a laboratory, university or research environment would be advantageous.  Candidates will need to be able to demonstrate practical ability.

This full time post is offered with an expected duration of 6 months.
