Our Broker Dealer Client located in Jersey City, NJ and Dallas/Fort Woth is looking for a self-motivated energetic individual to join their accounting team in either New Jersey or Dallas if you are unwilling to work onsite in either Dallas or New Jersey please do not apply. AJ Consultancy, Inc is recruiting for a Senior Accountant role for a Broker Dealer firm located in both Jersey City, NJ or Dallas, Fort Worth area. Our client would find CPA a plus and 2+ years of Public/Private Accounting experience within Broker Dealer industry with ample knowledge of how accounting works within the Broker-Dealer. The role reports directly into the Senior Accounting Manager for the US, and will cover US GAAP/IFRS financial reporting, FINRA/FOCUS reporting, financial governance and control, external reporting and consolidation, head office reporting, ad hoc projects/process improvements. This role requires you to be onsite 4 days per week in either the Jersey City, New Jersey office or the Dallas Fort Worth office.Responsibilities

• Ensuring regulatory compliant reporting, and all aspects of general ledger integrity and balance sheet substantiation
• Develop a sound understanding of US GAAP related to firm and SRO’s policies and rules and applying these to daily accounting functions.
• Contribute to the development and maintenance of FINRA/FOCUS and reporting, in respect of new regulatory returns set out by the regulatory institutions.
• Contribute to continuous development of reporting and process change to comply with the reporting requirements of the Broker-Dealer, the parent company, including reductions in reporting timelines
• Involvement in the production of the general ledgers, including involvement in various assets classes, payroll, staff benefit, intercompany related journal entries, and management of year-end audit process and associated issues
• Monthly reconciliation of financial reporting to Head Office, and the control and analytical review of parent company and broker dealer results, and inter-company confirmations
• Reconciliation and control of the staff expense system, including the review and control of staff submissions, payment processing and balance sheet disclosure.
• Contribute to reporting preparation for the Executive Committee, and other recipients
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements for reporting classification and disclosure, including improvements to the processes and procedures

RequirementsRequirements:

• CPA qualification a plus
• 2+ years of Public/Private Accounting experience with a U.S. Broker Dealer having strong industry knowledge pertaining to SRO policy’s Knowledge of US GAAP/IFRS financial reporting, FINRA/FOCUS/ reporting, financial governance and control, external reporting and consolidation, head office reporting

This Senior Accountant role requires someone to work 4 days per week in either the Jersey City, New Jersey or Dallas Fort Worth office so please only apply if you are able to travel to either the New Jersey or Dallas location, have relevant experience for the role, and are eligible to work in the United States.
