ROB – RAMANAN – Postdoctoral Fellow

The Robotics Institute at Carnegie Mellon University was established in 1979 to conduct basic and applied research in robotics technologies relevant to industrial and societal tasks. Seeking to combine the practical and the theoretical, we have diversified efforts and approaches to robotics science while retaining the original goal of realizing the potential of the robotics field.
Carnegie Mellon University’s Robotics Institute is searching for a Postdoctoral Fellow. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who thrives in an interesting and challenging work environment.

Job Functions:

• Conduct research experiments within the predetermined research scope and methodology of department and university
• Responsible for interfacing with sponsor during workshops and quarterly updates, oversee cluster and equipment management
• Supervising students and interns
• Other duties as assigned

Preferred Qualifications

• Ph.D. in Robotics
• 3 years related experience
• Experience implementing image processing/computer vision algorithms

Required Skillsets

• Solid knowledge of computer vision and graphics, machine learning, robotics, and human-computer interaction
• Excellent analytical, problem solving and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work in small teams with a variety of technical and organizational skills
• Superb technical communication skills (oral and written)

Nice-to-have Skillsets

• Expertise developing and presenting research proposals
• Expertise implementing and applying machine learning techniques to different data sets
