Vaccination Requirement

The University of Nebraska Medicine Center (UNMC) requires COVID-19 vaccinations for all students, staff, and faculty. All employees must be fully vaccinated unless they have requested and been approved for an exemption based on a recognized medical reason, a sincerely held religious belief, or a pre-approved, 100% remote work agreement. Fully vaccinated means having received one dose of a single dose COVID-19 vaccine (Johnson & Johnson) or both doses of a two-dose COVID-19 vaccination series (Moderna and Pfizer).

Non-faculty new hires, rehires and transfers who receive a denial of a request for medical or religious exemption will be given five (5) business days from exemption denial notification date to provide proof of compliance with this policy. Non-faculty new hires, rehires and transfers with no approved exemption who fail to comply with this policy will be separated.

Position Summary The Advanced Microscopy Core Facility (AMCF) is adding a new Imaging Specialist to our existing team of Research Imaging Specialists supporting various researchers using a diverse array of biomedical imaging technologies to conduct basic, translational, and clinical research. This position will assist researchers and/or independently perform assigned research duties using various biomedical imaging technologies in the AMCF, with a focus on whole slide scanning, 3D/volumetric imaging using light sheet microscopy, and imaging analysis using state-of-the-art software (HALO, IMARIS). This position will additionally assist with core management (scheduling and recording equipment usage, performing Quality Assurance checks, consultations with researchers regarding imaging technologies), and provide training and assistance for various biomedical imaging technologies housed in the AMCF.
