The Opportunity
The Faculty of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences is looking to recruit a Research Fellow to join its research team, within the Neuromedicines Discovery Centre. As a Research Fellow, you will work collaboratively with academic and industry partners in the Molecular and Translational Drug Discovery lab based at the Monash Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences (MIPS).
The Research Fellow will perform key practical tasks involving animal handling, dissection, neuronal cell culture and sample preparation. You will have a PhD in cell biology, pharmacology, neuroscience or a closely related field. You will have demonstrated experience in sample preparation and optimisation for confocal microscopy, preferably with capacity to apply quantitative analysis techniques. You will have a deep understanding of neuronal cell biology along with practical skills in neuronal or native cell culture, animal handling and dissections. You will have skills in western blotting and qPCR.
This role is a full-time position; however, flexible working arrangements may be negotiated.
