View All Vacancies

We are seeking a Research Fellow to conduct world-leading research on novel software optimisation techniques for multi-core systems. The goal of the project is to advance the state-of-the-art in low-level systems optimisation technology by rethinking the design and implementation of compiler technology. The successful candidate will join the Distributed Systems and Services Group at the School of Computing, under the supervision of Professor Zheng Wang, and work with a team of faculty members, researchers and PhD students, in collaboration with industrial partners. Collaboration with researchers at other universities and industries around the world is also encouraged, and there are strong links within the group with other leading companies and research groups worldwide.

Holding a PhD (or have submitted your thesis before taking up the role) in Computer Science or a closely allied discipline you will have a strong background in Computer Science with a particular interest in software engineering and low-level systems optimisation.   You will be responsible for designing and implementing new compiler analysis and optimisation methods through the use of machine learning, evaluating and open-sourcing experimental software prototypes. Having working experience in machine learning and deep learning would be advantageous but not essential.
