Research Fellow (Engineering)

The Energy Research Institute @ NTU (ERIAN) invites applications for the position of Research Fellow. 

Key Responsibilities: 
 

1. To actively support R&D projects at ERI@N in terms of research, development, testing and verification/validation activities, R&D funding proposal development and reporting & documentation.

2. The role will include the following:

• Perform as technical lead for SSBT projects involving industry partners, government agencies and/or external collaborators; carry out project management tasks for assigned projects.
• Perform CFD/energy modelling & simulation, building energy assessment, HVAC system analysis/design and thermal system analysis/design.
• Carry out technical assessment of green building solutions aligned with BCA Green Mark criteria.
• Experience in embodied/whole life carbon assessment and decarbonization studies is advantageous.
• Participate in creation of research proposals related to sustainable urban solutions, green buildings, low-carbon district level solutions and agritech/urban farming applications.
• Engage stakeholders at management and working levels internally as well as with external funding agencies, collaborators and industry partners; including delivering presentations and guiding discussions or workshops as necessary.
• Lead/Co-lead in authoring of technical publications for research projects.

3. You will be an integral part of the SSBT team and will need to participate in project discussions especially related to project implementation details.

Job Requirements:

• PhD degree in engineering (e.g. Mechanical, Clean/Renewable Energy, Building Systems/ Sustainable Infrastructure Engineering or IT related).
• Proficient in MS Office applications.
• Should be a very hands-on person, willing to take on non-routine tasks.
• Possess good communication (written and verbal) skills. Able to manage multiple stakeholders and work under tight timelines.
• Positive attitude, ability to work independently as well as in a team.
