Position Overview
The Department of Psychiatry in the Cumming School of Medicine invites applications for Research Coordinator. This Fixed Term Full-time position is for approximately 12 months (based on length of grant funding), with the possibility of extension.
Reporting to the Principal Investigator.
The Research Coordinator will be the primary coordinator for a project to improve the way mental health services are provided to young adults. Specifically, the project involves implementing and testing different types of mental health assessments and psychotherapy programs within community settings and specialty healthcare providers.
This position will be based out of Foothills Medical Centre, but also involves working closely with healthcare providers across the city of Calgary such as Alberta Health Services (AHS) and not-for-profit partners. The Research Coordinator can generally work during normal business hours, but will occasionally be asked to work evenings or weekends to accommodate the schedules of research partners and study participants. This position allows some flexibility to work from home, but some work will need to be done in-person in the Calgary area.
Position Description
Summary of Key Responsibilities (job functions include but are not limited to):
Study Site Coordination
Promote and establish stakeholder buy-in to partner with research team
Coordinate site setup and complete ethics applications
Conduct interviews and lead focus groups
Build and maintain relationships with young adults with lived experience of mental health issues as well as their family and healthcare providers
Schedule, coordinate, and participate in meetings between stakeholders
Recruit and retain research participants
Administering quantitative surveys and assessments
Coordinate with other sites in the conduct of multi-site studies
Research Team Collaboration
Conduct statistical analyses, monitor trends, compile data, and prepare charts, graphs, summaries, and reports in support of the research activities
Conducting literature reviews and summarizing findings
Analyzing study data and report results to stakeholders (e.g. AHS) in written and oral formats
Generate PowerPoint presentations on behalf of the Principal Investigator and research team, to be used when presenting to various internal and external stakeholders
Present results to a variety of stakeholders
Secure ethics approvals
Analyze qualitative and quantitative data
Write research reports
Support the Principal Investigator and team members on other projects as needed
Other
Support the start-up and implementation of new research projects, including protocol development, ethics applications, and contracts
Coordinate activities for ongoing projects including study management, ensuring adherence to protocols/guidelines, ethics modifications
