The Centre for Primary Care and Health Services Research at the University of Manchester seeks a Research Associate from 1 December 2022 to 31 May 2024. Funding is available to undertake this post on a full-time (1.0 fte) or part-time (0.5 fte) basis.
We are seeking to appoint a research associate with relevant and up-to-date knowledge in the advanced aspects of statistical modelling and/or meta-analysis of randomised controlled trials
(RCTs) to contribute to meta-analyses as part of a multicentre grant funded by the NIHR School for Primary Care Research. In this project, we aim to summarize evidence for:
You should hold a good first degree (2.1 or above) or equivalent in statistics, health services research or a relevant discipline and a PhD (completed or near completion) in statistics, health services research, public health, epidemiology, or a related discipline (or relevant equivalent experience). You will also require experience in meta-analysis or multilevel modelling, experience of using statistical software (R or Stata), research experience and a publication record. They will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills and experience of working within a multi-disciplinary team.
You will be responsible for the data collection, data management activities and statistical analysis carried out as part of these two meta-analyses. You will join a multidisciplinary team including health services researchers, statisticians and academics with a track record of impactful (network) meta-analyses (examples of our previous network meta-analyses have been published in JAMA and BMJ), world leading experts on workforce well-being and retention. The post-holder will take a lead in planning and organisation for the study, supported by the Investigators at the University of Manchester (Dr’s Alexander Hodkinson and Maria Panagioti) as well as the joint Principal Investigator (Dr Danielle van der Windt) at Keele University. There will be opportunities to lead and contribute to publications and presenting findings at national conferences.
