The Assistant Director of Programs and Community Engagement (ADPCE) works directly with the Director to develop, manage, and implement annual plans for inclusive public program engagement and educational initiatives in order to further museum audience development and growth. Together with the Director and Rose staff, the ADPCE also develops and maintains partnerships with students, faculty, and staff constituencies on campus as well as the general public in Waltham, Greater Boston, MetroWest, and beyond. Engaging, diverse, top quality, high-profile programming are anchors of the museum’s strategic plan, and the incumbent will strategically build an advanced schedule for long-term community partnership and engagement. The ADPCE is responsible for interfacing with student, faculty, and staff to create innovative connections across disciplines. Will support and facilitate discussions on exhibitions, collections, and programs. Requires some degree of budgetary responsibility. Serves as a liaison, educator, and facilitator with already organized and scheduled exhibition content.

Job Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in relevant field or equivalent work experience. Master’s degree or equivalent work experience preferred plus 3-5 years related work experience.
Because of the nature of this work, the ADPCE is expected to be on site 100% of their weekly schedule.

Experience in event production, project management, budgets; modern/contemporary art knowledge
Excellent communication skills; strong collaboration; commitment to DEIA and experience working w/diverse people and groups; ability to present information at all levels;
Mission-oriented, innovative, flexible;
May supervise interns, contractors or event staff.
