Research Assistant

• Full time Fixed Term position until 30 June 2023
• Based in Hobart
• Support the effective planning and implementation of research projects.

The Opportunity

As the Research Assistant you will provide project and academic support to the newly established Health System Economics and Sustainability stream within the Public Health, Primary Care and Health Services theme. Our team is pioneering research at the intersection of health economics, environmentally sustainable healthcare, and ecological economics.

Key Accountabilities:

• Assist with the collection and collation of data on relevant aspects of health and health services.
• Assist with the establishment, management and maintenance of project datasets and databases.
• Assist with planning, undertaking, and reporting data analysis for projects.
• Contribute to report writing and academic publication writing.

Your Application

To be successful in the role, your application will need to demonstrate;

• A degree level qualification or higher in a relevant area (e.g. health economics, public health, economics, environmental / sustainability science.
• Skills and experience gained in a research, policy or consultancy setting.
• Excellent quantitative, analytical skills and experience.
• Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to be self-directed and use initiative.
• Record-keeping skills appropriate to carrying out a scientific investigation.

Remuneration

Appointment to this role will be at Research Assistant Level 1-3 and will have a total remuneration package of up to $94,653 comprising base salary of $76,213 to $80,900 plus 17% superannuation.
