Postdoctoral Research Associate


The Carnegie Mellon Biomedical Engineering department seeks to transform healthcare worldwide through interdisciplinary engineering innovation and to train future leaders and innovators in biomedical engineering.

We are currently searching for a Postdoctoral Research Associate to join Professor Kainerstorfers research team.  This is an excellent opportunity for someone who thrives in an interesting and challenging work environment. You will contribute to the department by working on optical imaging data processing, including neurovascular coupling quantification in animal and human data.

Your core responsibilities will include :

  • Collecting data in healthy volunteers as well as patients in the pediatric ICU.

  • Analyzing data, including periodical/literature search and utilizing specialized skills in related field to analyze the collected data.

  • Presenting at conferences, write scientific manuscripts, and work in a multi-disciplinary team.

  • Other duties as assigned.

You should demonstrate:

Qualifications:

  • Doctorate degree required

  • Must have experience in diffuse optical imaging, as well as EEG

  • Must have expertise in Matlab

  • Or a combination of education and relevant experience from which comparable knowledge is demonstrated may be considered.
