Research & Admin Coordinator

Department:
Nursing College Administration

Responsible for overseeing the day-to-day administrative and research activities for the Martha S. Pitzer Center for Women, Children & Youth within the College of Nursing; works with the director to monitor financial status and reviews all expenses for the Center and as necessary other externally sponsored projects; assists in the preparation of articles, proposals, reports and conducts literature searchers for publication; serves as primary contact for the Center; coordinates visiting professor lectures, faculty development programs and Center meetings; takes and distributes minutes; works with IT and College communications/marketing as directed by the Director for the promotion of the Center; performs complex administrative duties of a responsible, sensitive and confidential nature requiring considerable independence of action; oversees and manages fiscal activities; resolves issues; acts as liaison to faculty and organizations inquiring about Center’s research initiatives; represents the Center to various center constituencies (students, other faculty, other staff, and community stakeholders); schedules and clerically supports the Director and faculty research start-up initiatives; works with the College IRB/Compliance person; independently researches and prioritizes incoming issues and determines appropriate course of action, referral, and/or response; updates web pages and facilitates social media; provides administrative and clerical support to the Director; maintains appointment calendar; makes all travel arrangements for a variety of regional, national and international meetings; coordinates director involvement in university events; composes correspondence and drafts materials for the director’s review and processes travel requests for faculty.   

Minimum Education Required

Bachelor’s Level Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience

Qualifications

Considerable experience in project planning; strong oral and written communication skills; considerable experience in an administrative capacity; knowledge of university policies, procedures, rules and regulations; experience and/or training using word processing equipment to generate a variety of materials ranging from basic to complex; Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint skills; experience and/or training in office practices and procedures and customer service

Desired: Experience in event planning and organization of program materials; experience in facilitating social media (i.e., facebook, twitter) and excellent organizational skills and initiative.  Requires successful completion of a background check. Completed IRB training and 1-2 years as a research coordinator.

Additional Information:

​The target hourly rate for this position is $20.53-$27.36.
