Purpose
ARL, a University Affiliated Research Center, has approximately 900 employees; approximately 60% are research and development science and engineering staff. We are seeking a team-oriented self-starter to join our HR Operations team as a candidate sourcing and technical recruiter development specialist.
Responsibilities
Collaborate with ARL recruiting team and hiring managers to determine criteria for sourcing that will result in a diverse group of highly qualified prospects for available positions. Develop and utilize engagement methods to encourage prospects’ interest in applying for ARL’s research positions posted via Workday, the UT Austin official applicant tracking system. Develop a thorough understanding of the entire UT Austin Workday candidate database. Review and screen applications for specific positions as needed and requested by supervisor.
Train and coach ARL managers on best practices for recruiting, interviewing, and selection. Develop and conduct in-person and virtual training sessions. Collaborate with (1) ARL HR Senior Employee Relations, Training, and DEI Coordinator to develop and deliver training on diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) and other training topics, such as understanding and mitigating the effects of implicit bias, and (2) the ARL HR Operations team in developing an improved, more comprehensive new employee onboarding experience.
Routinely travel for networking and professional events, including meetings of research-related organizations in ARL science and engineering fields of practice. Participate in college and military career fairs in collaboration with other ARL HR recruiting staff. Work with other HR recruiting team members to maintain ARL’s presence on sourcing websites, such as Indeed and LinkedIn, and advertise via university organizations, career centers, and other venues to provide advance information for recruiting fairs.
Systematically research market trends and developments in the field of talent acquisition and relevant sourcing platforms via consistent monitoring and networking with peer talent acquisition professionals. Present comparisons and recommend products for projected highest return on investment (ROI) based on thorough knowledge of sourcing platforms and ARL’s current and estimated future staffing needs. Consistently measure and record sourcing ROI; develop related documentation for presentation to ARL HR managers and ARL leadership.
Perform other related general HR functions in ARL HR as assigned.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Public Administration, or related field
Two years of experience in recruiting, sourcing, or related HR functions. Prior experience developing and conducting virtual and in-person training.
Achievement-oriented talent acquisition professional who can demonstrate a record of creativity and innovation in the sourcing/recruitment field and the ability to produce analytics that clearly communicate the outcomes of recruiting efforts .
Evidence of excellence in decision making and critical thinking, tactical and strategic planning, effective written and verbal communications, problem solving, customer service, conflict management, and relationship management.
Extensive experience using MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; evidence of knowledge of Human Resources laws and regulations; a commitment to fostering diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging; the ability to work well independently and as part of a team; a willingness and desire to learn new methods in order to provide the exemplary service to hiring managers, candidates, and ARL and UT Human Resources colleagues; the ability to present topics to various audiences; and the ability to work well with employees at all levels within the organization.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience recruiting experienced technical professionals (research and development engineers, Department of Defense industrial security professionals, and information technology professionals).
Experience with in-depth analysis of recruiting and candidate sourcing for science, engineering, and technical staff in a defense research and development organization. Leadership experience in this area.
Experience with MS SharePoint and knowledge of best practices for use of this collaboration application.
Experience in using Excel to develop dashboards.
SHRM-CP or PHR certification.
Talent Acquisition Specialty Credential.
Beneficial for college coursework to have included statistics and research methods.

Salary Range
$58,000-$65,000+/negotiable depending on qualifications.
