Description

Develops, plans, and implements fitness programs for the Department of Campus Recreation at the University of Houston.

  • Directs the recruitment, selection, supervision, and evaluation of staff and students; provide guidance, and is responsible for professional development and training for staff.
  • Provides leadership and direction for fitness programs, schedule and evaluate fitness programs including group exercise, personal and group personal training, Fit4Hire, instructor training, non-academic ACE Personal training classes, special programs and events.
  • Collaborates with marketing team to develop and execute an ongoing marketing and promotional plan for all programs.
  • Oversees the scheduling, supervision, and management fitness programs for multiple activities within and outside of the CRWC.
  • Ensures program compliance with university policy and procedures, and local and state regulations.
  • Monitor expenses and revenue goals, identify opportunities for fundraising, sponsorship and grants to support programs and events.
  • Develop, plan, and implement long range strategic plans for assessment of student development, learning outcomes, evaluations of programs, services and staff.
  • Maintains records and creates various reports including semi-annual and annual reports.
  • Collaborates with campus partners and academic units to develop and implement programs and events to contribute to student success.
  • Assess, evaluate and mitigate risk for programs, implement departmental emergency action plan, inspect campus program areas and equipment. Performs other job-related duties as required.

    Qualifications

    Bachelors and 3 years experience

    Requires a thorough understanding of both theoretical and practical aspects of an analytical, technical or professional discipline; or the basic knowledge of more than one professional discipline. Knowledge of the discipline is normally obtained through a formal, directly job-related 4 year degree from a college or university or an equivalent in-depth specialized training program that is directly related to the type of work being performed. Requires a minimum of three (3) year of directly job-related experience.


    Salary: 3,881.00 – 5,047.00
