Job description
The overall objective of this EU project is to assess European water policies for their resilience in the context of the Water-Energy-Food-Ecosystems nexus. Within this objective, the postdoc will focus on integrating the nexus perspective into the design of policy instruments for water management such as pricing policies and water markets. This integration is done both theoretically and empirically. The theory part is based on designing and refining hydro-economic models. The empirical part involves testing model predictions in a number of European water management case studies, and exploring how implications for water management can be translated into effective water governance arrangements. The research will be carried out by the postdoc in close collaboration with economists and governance researchers at the Department of Spatial Economics as well as the Institute for Environmental Studies. The appointment will be for 2.5 years, including limited teaching responsibilities (approximately 20%), with expected starting date in January 2023.

A challenging position in a socially involved organization. On full-time basis the remuneration amounts to a minimum gross monthly salary of €2,960 (scale 10)
and a maximum €4,670 (scale 10), depending on your education and experience. The job profile: is based on the university job ranking system and is vacant for at least 0.8 FTE.

The Department of Spatial Economics is engaged in economic problems in which space plays a prominent role, and offers insights and applications from a multi-disciplinary perspective.
