Pharmacy Technician 2: Operations Team

Communicates and assists our patients via phone or MyChart messaging to set up orders and answer questions. Technicians set up delivery, fills prescription orders, and sends out orders under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist/licensed independent practitioner. Must demonstrate the ability to work efficiently in all areas of the pharmacy.

• Efficiently works in all areas of the pharmacy, including filling, packaging, phones, and point of sale.
• Participates in the training of new employees and initiating new procedures and workflows.
• Fills and sends out medications under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist/licensed independent practitioner.
• Policies and procedures are followed consistently.
• Ensures adequate supplies are available for continuous patient care.
• Triages and escalates any questions or issues outside the pharmacy technician scope of practice to the staff pharmacist or supervisor as needed.
• Uses appropriate systems for processing of patient information.
• Ensures quality assurance is maintained according to departmental and legal requirements.
• Operates pharmacy equipment appropriately.
• In addition to the above job responsibilities, other duties may be assigned.

Position Compensation Range: $17.65 – $27.36 Hourly

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Education: High School Graduate or Equivalent
Experience: 6 months minimum relevant experience required
License/Certification: Commonwealth of Virginia Pharmacy Technician Registration required. CPhT credential through National Healthcareer Association (NHA) or Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) required. For team members hired prior to February 1, 2020, certification as CPhT through NHA or PTCB is required by January 31, 2022.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Job requires standing for prolonged periods. Proficient communicative, auditory and visual skills; Attention to detail and ability to write legibly; Ability to lift/push/pull less than 20lbs.
