Job Summary The Department of Human Development and Family Science is seeking candidates for an Outreach Programs Administrator I/II position. Together with the faculty Principal Investigator and Project Manager, the Outreach Coordinator will plan, coordinate, deliver and manage outreach activities to accomplish the outreach goals and objectives of two federally funded relationship education projects, including, communications, participant recruitment and retention, educator training support, direct program delivery, and data collection for evaluation and research. Position responsibilities will span across two projects focused on delivery and evaluation of relationship education for youth and couples. This is a one year limited term appointment, continuation of employment is contingent upon availability of funding.

Essential Functions This position involves a number of distinct responsibilities that include:
  • Coordinating recruitment and retention efforts for community-based couples education classes primarily in the Lee County and surrounding areas to explain the project goals and benefits offered, to assess areas of need, enroll in program, and provide follow up communications to enhance program and research study retention;
  • Assisting in the development of marketing plans and publicity materials for distribution to target audience;
  • Offer and conduct case management meetings as needed;
  • Co-facilitate relationship education classes for adults and possibly youth;
  • Assist with local youth relationship education program training and delivery, fidelity checks, and continuous quality improvement;
  • Provide technical assistance to other youth relationship education sites and partnering schools to build and maintain partnerships and compliance to protocols;
  • Assist with data collection procedures for the youth and couple projects;
  • Coordinate with Leadership Team on compliance with university and federal policies and assist with report preparation for funder, stakeholders, and academic audiences.
  • Minimum Education and Experience

    Education Level Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution
    Field of Study Human Development, Family Science, or a related area
    Years of Experience None required
    Area of Experience The design, implementation, delivery and management of educational programs/services to include research-based, scripted family life community education programs; experience in management of tasks and meeting simultaneous timelines, demonstrated experience in community-based data collection.
    Requirements for Additional Job Levels Level II requires a Bachelor’s degree in Human Development, Family Science, or a related area and at least 2 years of experience.

    Minimum Skills and Abilities Must be fluent in English and possess excellent written and interpersonal communication skills.

    Desired Qualifications

    Desired Qualifications Master’s degree or equivalent. Experience with programming that serves low-resource individuals and families. Experience coordinating the implementation of outreach programs at remote sites; experience in coordinated outreach efforts with community agencies; mentoring and training experience in an applied social science research setting. Experience facilitating family life and/or relationship education programs. Experience working with domestic violence victims advocate organizations. Demonstrated experience in evaluation and interpretation in an applied research setting. Experience providing presentations for academic and lay audiences at the local and national levels. Experience providing community presentations.
