The Occupational Therapy Fellow in hand therapy at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, California will evaluate and treat patients in accordance with the prescription of the physician. Provides patient care consistent with Scope of Practice Standards and Code of Ethics; the Plan for the Provision of Care to Patients, the Plan for Corporate Compliance, the Performance Improvement Plan and Patient Education Plan. The Fellow assists in the continuous quality improvement process and in the education and training of students, as applicable, and assists in divisional growth and cohesiveness to ensure a high quality of therapy care. Provides care maintaining safety of the environment, utilizing appropriate communication with sensitivity and attention to special populations, including patients with diverse cultural backgrounds, age, developmental issues and physical disabilities.

The Fellowship Program in Occupational Therapy hand therapy is designed to provide the fellow with one year of post-graduate advanced practice which includes: training in patient clinical practice and professional development and may include research, operational/administrative duties or program development. The fellow ensures completion of required didactic, clinical and mentored hours, based upon the setting’s needs and the requirements of the program. The fellow will have an identified clinical and research mentor.

• Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy program – Required (Master’s)
• Doctorate Degree Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy program- Preferred

• Occupational Therapy License in PAMS per California State Requirements
• Basic Life Support- Upon Hire

• Must be competent by virtue of training and/or experience to perform evaluations, design and implement treatment plans and provide education in a manner appropriate to the age of the patient. Experience and/or knowledge of assessment and intervention techniques in a medical and physical disabilities setting.
• 1- 2 years of Occupational Therapist experience is preferred
