Pay Grade/Pay Range:  58 Monthly (exempt): – Minimum – $ 42,140.80 Midpoint – $ 61,110.40

Normal Work Schedule: Monday-Friday 8:00am to 4:45pm with occasional nights and weekends as needed

Job Summary: The Manager of First Gen Programs will lead the expansion of campus wide initiatives for first-generation students who are the first in their families to go to college.

Additional Department Summary: This position will lead the expansion of campus wide initiatives for first-generation students who are the first in their families to go to college. This will include the management of several scholarships funded by corporate and philanthropic giving which will require an ability to build rapport and relationships with external supporters.

In addition to administering the scholarship programs, this position will expand First Gen initiatives such as the implementation of the Legacy Scholars program as a four-year wrap-around support program, the expansion of faculty/staff engagement and development around First Gen student populations, and the overall growth of First Gen programming for all audiences at UA. This position will work collaboratively with others in the Capstone Center for Student Success to support the success of First Generation students and elevate the awareness and success of First Gen at UA.

Required Minimum Qualifications: Master’s degree in education, business or human services and one year of work experience in a related area OR Bachelor’s degree in education, business or human services and three years of related work experience OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Skills and Knowledge: The ideal candidate possess highly developed communication and interpersonal skills along with public relations expertise and comfortability interfacing with donors and external partners. Strong partnership building skills to maximize wrap-around student support on campus. Selected candidate needs to be self-directed with an entrepreneurial spirit for program development and expansion.

Preferred Qualifications: Previous experience working with first-generation college students. Previous experience in program development, management, and assessment. Previous experience with external relations and developing external support for programs/initiatives.
