Alongside our existing Mental Health Clinical Leads, Student Counselling Clinical Lead and Wellbeing Manager, this is an opportunity to help lead our highly experienced team of counsellors, mental health advisors and wellbeing advisors, ensuring that students have access to high quality and timely support.
Establishing and maintaining strong links with appropriate internal and external bodies to ensure students have appropriate mental health provision will be fundamental to the role. The post holder will be expected to make clinical governance decisions across the full spectrum of mental health difficulties, recommending appropriate treatment, support and adjustments for students which maximise their (academic and non-academic) student experience, as well as leading a team of practitioners who will provide mental health assessments and support.
You will have the ability to establish relationships with people from both clinical and non-clinical backgrounds and communicate effectively, showing a good understanding of diversity and inclusion issues relating to student wellbeing. You will also be experienced in dealing with people in crisis and providing support to students and staff to manage such situations.
The successful candidate will have significant experience in a similar organisational context and an ability to demonstrate a clear understanding of how the University context impacts on decision making and wider service delivery.
Educated to degree level (or equivalent), the successful candidate will be approved in their field and be professionally trained and fully accredited by an appropriate professional body in the field of mental health.
