About the Role
As part of the University’s Advancing Melbourne institutional strategy, Melbourne Climate Futures (MCF) is a whole-of-university interdisciplinary climate initiative established in 2021, which is designed to ensure the University makes a significant contribution to society through addressing the global challenge of climate change across both research and education.
The Manager role within MCF is an exciting opportunity for a senior professional to work in partnership with the Director and Deputy Directors of MCF, and with colleagues from Chancellery Research and Enterprise and all Academic Divisions, in the development, coordination and scaling-up of this initiative.
The Manager will support the strategy, planning and delivery of key priorities for MCF, including advice relating to stakeholder, government and industry engagement, business development and strategic communications.

About You
Reporting to the director, this position works closely with the broader executive and leadership team on key projects that Melbourne Climate Futures are leading or contributing to. You are able to utilise your highly developed initiative and resourcefulness to draw on available information and networks, along with your own expertise to achieve desired outcomes. You have knowledge of, and experience with strategy and programs in a policy, research strategy, and program/portfolio development role in a university, research or government/public environment. You are able to demonstrate versatility, flexibility, and a high level of self-motivation to recommend, develop and implement innovative solutions, along with a capacity to work effectively as a team member and autnomously as required. You have a high level of conceptual, analytical and problem-solving skills along with extensive experience in providing advice, and in successfully negotiating with both internal and external stakeholders on complex matters.
