ASSISTANT PROFESSOR OF ECONOMICS
The University of Pittsburgh’s Kenneth P. Dietrich School of Arts and Sciences, Department of Economics seeks an Assistant Professor of Economics to teach/instruct graduate and undergraduate courses in Economics. This person will carry on an active program of scholarly research and work with graduate and undergraduate students beyond the classroom as may be appropriate to their educational needs. May also serve on departmental and University committees to further the academic mission.
Must have a Ph.D. degree (or foreign equivalent degree) in Economics, Business, or related field and some college-level teaching experience.
Must also have: (i) extensive economic research experience; (ii) evidence of teaching effectiveness; (iii) experience with designing and executing large field experiments in low-income countries (iv) knowledge of cutting-edge tools in statistics for causal inference using experimental and quasi-experimental methods; (v) an innovative research agenda at the frontier of Applied Microeconomics; (vi) extensive knowledge of development economics, behavioral economics and political economics; (vii) evidence of successfully competing for external funding; and (viii) experience making presentations at relevant seminars, workshops, and conferences.
Must also have an established or emerging record of relevant publications in peer-reviewed journals.
Experience can be concurrent.
