Job Summary Under the direction of the Building & Grounds Supervisor, this position performs all requested maintenance functions, including maintenance and repair of plumbing equipment, electrical switches and appliances, heating and ventilation units, and building equipment and fixtures. The incumbent shall maintain the security of the facility and its equipment, supplies, and personal contents through the responsible use of the keys that are assigned.
Major responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
  • Utilize equipment to repair and maintain complex machinery, equipment, and facility property to prevent further damage and ensure optimal operation
  • Perform routine facility inspections and monitor cleanliness
  • Troubleshoot, escalate, and document issues according to established policies and procedures
  • Receive, inspect, inventory, and distribute deliveries to appropriate entities under general supervision
  • Assist trades, crafts, vendors, and technical staff with construction, design, and operational maintenance as needed

Multiple shift openings are available for this role. While this position will predominately work a consistent schedule, rotating nights and weekend shifts, in addition to emergency site visits will be scheduled as needed.
This position is in Salary Grade 19, with a desired starting hourly pay range of $23.00 – $25.00 per hour. Salary will be determined by the finalist’s experience, education, training, internal/external pay equity, and other factors.
This position comes with a generous paid leave package including:

  • Vacation: 13 days/year
  • Observed Legal Holidays: Nine legal holidays are observed
  • Personal Holiday: 4.5 days/year
  • Sick Leave: 5 hours per paycheck, 130 hours (16.25 days) per year

Minimum Qualifications
  • Experience with maintenance and repair of building mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems
  • Ability to occasionally lift up to 50lbs
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule that may require nights, weekends, and holidays as dictated by operational need
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience operating a forklift
  • Construction or facility trades experience
  • Experience with common business productivity software and applications (e.g., MS Office Suite, email, etc.)
  • Knowledge of OSHA and State of Wisconsin safety regulations
  • Ability to manage multiple projects at the same time
