Purpose
The Office of the Vice President for Research, Scholarship, and Creative Endeavors (OVPR) seeks to hire a digital content coordinator for the management of web and social media communications. The digital content coordinator will lead and facilitate a cohesive social media strategy to grow awareness and understanding of the impact of research conducted at UT Austin. In addition, this position will work closely with colleagues in the OVPR portfolio and across campus to develop and manage content for the website and to amplify the research initiatives and successes of UT Austin researchers. This position will report to the Research Communications Director.
Responsibilities
Develop and execute a strategy for social and web communications that informs, engages, and increases internal and external target audiences. Proactively build partnerships with diverse influencers and campus community members to inform strategy.
Oversee and maintain project timelines, respond to new and ongoing project needs, and manage team and vendor expectations throughout the redesign and redevelopment of the new OVPR website. Review all new content to ensure it adheres to best practices, accessibility standards and UT brand guidelines.
Create and post highly engaging and dynamic social media content to amplify the outreach and impact of researchers and faculty at UT colleges and schools. Create and utilize photography, images, video and digital storytelling elements to enhance content. Collaborate with campus counterparts and partner organizations to coordinate promotion of initiatives, news, and accomplishments.
Use analytics from social media platforms and the OVPR website to evaluate the effectiveness of each platform and stay up to date on new technologies, tactics, and platforms for additional traction. Identify opportunities for improvement and innovation.
Maintain editorial calendar for the OVPR communications team.

Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in journalism, marketing, communications, or related area.
Two years of experience in extensive copy writing, digital strategy and website content management.
Experience using multimedia software such as Canva or Adobe Creative Suite to create social media assets.
Experience turning analytics about social media performance into insights to improve audience growth and engagement.
Experience maintaining brand and style standards and guidelines.
Superior proofreading skills.
Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.
Preferred Qualifications
Five years of professional experience.
Experience shooting and editing video and digital photography.
Proficiency in social media management tools and content management systems.
Experience with project management tools such as Asana or AirTable.
Experience working in higher education.
Salary Range
$55,000 + depending on qualifications
