Are you a senior manager with proven skills in leading and managing the strategic operations of a financial management and procurement function for a large organisation? Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, we are seeking a talented individual to join our leadership team and deliver on the Corporate Services Divisional Plan.

 

You will be responsible for overseeing the financial accounting & operations, procurement, corporate budget, and commercialisation services at CQUniversity.  You will also oversee the financial operations of our subsidiary companies, including legal oversight of the Indonesian controlled entities.

 

Using your exceptional communication and knowledge of current challenges within the higher education industry, you will provide high level strategic financial expertise to the CFO and provide direction to the Finance team to ensure financial information, financial plans and financial reporting is timely, relevant and accurate for Executive and other key stakeholders to make informed decisions.

 

This is a significant senior role which will see you work under the guidance and direction of the Chief Operating Officer & Chief Financial Officer, and have the opportunity to perform the CFO role when the Chief Operating Officer is unavailable.

 

Position Requirements

 

• Extensive and detailed knowledge of wider finance management/finance accounting concepts including associated theories, systems, practices and processes, standards and legislative requirements.
• Full professional membership of a relevant professional accountancy body, i.e. Chartered Accountant (CA) or Certified Practicing Accountant (CPA); and preferably hold relevant postgraduate qualifications plus extensive relevant experience.
• Detailed understanding of the current issues and future challenges for students within the higher education sector, nationally and internationally.
• Proven ability to ensure compliance with financial standards for public sector organisations, developing internal control procedures and adherence to audit standards.
