Student Equity & Inclusion Programs (SEIP)
USC Student Equity and Inclusion Programs (SEIP) is a cluster of student development centers and initiatives within USC Student Affairs that offer student support services and programs that focus on intersectionality, sense of belonging and well-being. SEIP facilitates dialogue, community-building and leads campus-wide equity and inclusion initiatives that impact the student experience.
The Coordinator for Justice, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (JEDI) Programs will coordinate various social justice and leadership education programs: in particular the Justice Equity Diversity Inclusion (JEDI) Peer Education Program. The JEDI peer education program was launched in Fall 2021 and trains student leaders to facilitate peer-led workshops on 5 topics – Identity, Privilege, and Intersectionality; Implicit Bias and Microaggressions; Race and Power; Gender and Sexuality; and Economic In/Justice. The Coordinator will supervise approximately 20 student staff who serve as SEIP JEDI peer educators. The peer educators support the wider USC student community in facilitating JEDI workshops, leading discussions, facilitating activities, and promoting a culture of equity and inclusion. The Coordinator will also serve as a resource and consultant to student organizations and campus leaders on issues related to justice, equity, diversity, and inclusion.
The Coordinator for Justice, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (JEDI) Programs is a full-time, professional staff member, reporting to the SEIP Manager for Leadership and Education, and is tasked with mission-driven implementation the SEIP’s JEDI programs, as well as collaboration, relationship-building and development, advocacy, outreach, and one-on-one mentoring/advising of student leaders. The Coordinator represents JEDI on a variety of committees and collaborative projects and is also charged with relationship-building with student organizations for the purpose of student engagement, partnership, and development. The Coordinator will also assist with social justice and capacity building workshops for Student Affairs units.
