Job summary

The Clinical Research Fellow will support the recruitment, assessment and participant visits in a controlled trial designed to evaluate new approaches to the diagnosis and management of food allergy in children. The Fellow will also support other research activities within the Children’s Clinical Research Facility at Imperial’s Academic Health Science Centre (AHSC) and be based in the dynamic research group of Professor Paul Turner.

Duties and responsibilities

You will be placed within a highly supportive environment and will be provided with a cutting-edge research project under experienced supervision and mentorship.

It is expected that you will:

  • recruit patients from St Mary’s Hospital
  • be responsible for accurate record keeping and documentation of results.
  • participate in research meetings and internal seminars
  • have the opportunity to prepare and present reports and papers arising from your research
  • carry out teaching duties and assist in the development of research proposals and funding bids
  • Comply with relevant college policies

Essential requirements

  • Must hold GMC (General Medical Council) registration
  • Hold a degree in Medicine
  • Minimum experience equivalent to ST3 in paediatrics
  • Experience of supervising oral food challenges in children or adults
  • Appropriate clinical skills in medicine

Further information

This is a Full Time and Fixed Term post with option to go Part Time (0.8 FTE) for 1 year based at the St. Mary’s Campus.

Salary upon appointment will also include an additional London Weighting Allowance of £2,162 per annum (pro rata if applicable).

Please note, if you’re not on an approved NHS training programme you will be appointed on the Clinical staff not holding consultant contracts salary scale.
