The Division of Geriatric Medicine at the University of Pittsburgh, Department of Medicine is seeking a clinical research assistant who will assist and be directly supervised by a physician scientist who is the principal investigator of an AHRQ-funded research project. The incumbent must be willing to coordinate project initiation, work with the Institutional Review Board; facilitate recruitment and scheduling of research participants; and assist with primary data collection, entry into RedCap, and analysis during the conduct of the research. Their communication skills are the most critical to the success of the project: they must be comfortable working with older adults with serious chronic health conditions, their family caregivers, and healthcare professionals ranging from Certified Nursing Assistants to Chief Medical Officers. Organizational skills for following research protocols is required. Familiarity with the organization of hospital and home health teams is a plus. Experience conducting clinical functional assessments is a plus. Conducting the research may involve intermittent (<4/month) daytrips within western Pennsylvania. Training and professional development opportunities are available based on interest.

Baccalaureate required, Master’s or other advanced health sciences degree preferred. Willing to substitute professional experience in a related field for degree requirements.
