The Building Assistant will function as an integral member of the Optometry Services Team, working closely with our Ophthalmic Equipment Repair Technician and Building Director.  Will respond to emergency equipment and building needs; assist with on-going building maintenance duties; assist with new employee office set up which includes, furniture, phone, IT equipment, building access; manage/respond to building request through college Help Desk ticket system and manage work orders; assist with building key control management; assist with inventory tracking and serves as back up to mailroom duties.  Other duties may be assigned as needed.

Additional Information:

Minimum Class Requirements Per CCS Class Specs: High School Diploma or GED. PC Knowledge and interpersonal, verbal, and written communication. Minimum 6 months experience in customer service or a healthcare environment.

Desired Experience: working in an office environment, knowledge of Microsoft Office word and excel

Pay rate is $16.00 per hr.

By the start of employment, all newly hired employees must receive at least the first dose of a two-dose series or a single dose of a one-dose series COVID-19 vaccination. Individuals who choose a two-dose series vaccination must receive the second dose within 45 days of their start date. Proof of vaccination will be required at time of hire.

Ohio State Wexner Medical Center, College of Medicine or OSUP Employees are not eligible for personal exemptions. All exemptions are subject to Ohio State’s approval and subject to change, including revocation, due to legal and regulatory requirements.
