Description

This position is located in the Oklahoma Field Office at Norman, OK, in the Multi-Resources Division. The primary purpose of the position is to supervises subordinates working in professional and non-professional occupations in natural resource management, wildlife biology, environmental planning and protection, archeology, realty, and geographic information systems throughout the jurisdictional area of the Oklahoma Field Office.

Qualifications

BASIC REQUIREMENT:
Option A: Education: You have successfully completed a bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited college or university leading to in biological sciences, agriculture, natural resource management, chemistry, or related disciplines appropriate to this position. (NOTE: You must submit a copy of your transcripts as proof of any claimed education).
-OR-
Option B: Combination of Education and Experience: You have a combination of education and experience: Courses equivalent to a major study, as shown in statement A above, plus appropriate experience or additional education. The quality of the combination of education and experience must be sufficient to demonstrate that you possess the knowledge, skills, and abilities required to perform work in the occupation, and is comparable to that normally acquired through the successful completion of a full 4-year course of study with a major in the appropriate field. (NOTE: You must submit a copy of your transcripts as proof of any claimed education and your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience).

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: To be considered minimally qualified for this position, you must demonstrate that you have the required specialized experience and/or education for the respective grade level in which you are applying:

GS-13:
Specialized Experience: Applicants must have one full year of specialized experience comparable in scope and responsibility to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service (obtained either in the private or public sectors) performing the following: (1) isolating and defining unknown conditions, resolving critical problems, and developing new approaches and guides for land management issues; (2) integrating programs into laws governing the management of natural resources on public lands; (3) supervising/conducting land use planning, environmental coordination, range management, wildlife biology, natural resources, outdoor recreation, archaeology, hydrology, and/or park management; (4) conducting a full range of supervisory duties, including planning, organizing, directing, and evaluating the work of subordinate staff members; and (5) communicating orally and in writing, to a variety of internal/external audiences to negotiate, mediate, and conciliate consensus building and facilitation.
