Summary of Job Duties:
The Associate Professor position is within the Department of Biological and Agricultural Engineering in the College of Engineering at the University of Arkansas. This position will include 25% appointment in the Arkansas Agricultural Experiment Station of the University of Arkansas System Division of Agriculture. The successful candidate will have a Ph.D. in Biosystems, Biological, Environmental, Agricultural, or related engineering discipline and be eligible to obtain a Professional Engineering registration within four years. We seek individuals who can contribute to modernizing undergraduate and graduate curricula, and to growing the graduate program. Experience in watershed hydrology, sustainable water systems to address water management, and conservation efficiency, in support of departmental programs at the water-food-energy nexus is warranted. The candidate will be expected to maintain a strong extramurally funded research program with emphasis on modeling watersheds to include hydrologic and ecosystem processes such as transport phenomena, nutrient cycling, surface and ground water management, agricultural irrigation, and/or ecosystem services. The candidate will be expected to advise undergraduate and graduate students. This position will complement rather than duplicate the existing research team within the department and the University of Arkansas. This person should actively engage faculty from other disciplines. It is expected that the individual selected will pursue extramural funding for their research and education programs.

Minimum Qualifications:
Ph.D. in Biosystems, Biological, Agricultural, Environmental, or closely related engineering discipline from an accredited institution of higher education
At least four years of academic experience
Demonstrated expertise for high-quality research in watershed modeling for surface hydrology and water quality in agricultural ecosystems; water resource management, water quality, and impacts of climate change and land use for securing competitive research funding, generating high-quality publications, teaching a variety of undergraduate and graduate courses; and providing appropriate service to the department, university, and profession
Demonstrated collaborative and interdisciplinary synergy with existing research strengths on-campus and a commitment to promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion
Knowledge of Arkansas agriculture is also desired
The candidate will be expected to either hold a professional engineering license or be capable of pursuing one in the state of Arkansas
